About
We are creating tactile, squishable 3D cell 'sculptures' with the help of local community groups and cancer patients to bring cutting edge science to new audiences. They will reflect real cancer cell mechanics, and we will be taking them to as many audiences as we can manage to help people to understand cancer and the cutting edge research that is going on to try to improve survival.
The scientists involved are based at the University of Edinburgh and Strathclyde University in Scotland, and are part of the OPTIMA CDT.
Edinburgh artist Sarah Hunter will be creating the sculptures. She has previously worked on a multi-sensory project aimed at including those who are visually impaired in the art world.
